Pregelatinized starch is a kind of modified starch with simple processing and wide application. When applying, just use cold water to make a paste, which avoids the trouble of heating and gelatinizing. Modified starch is mainly used as a thickener, gelling agent, binder and stabilizer. Roller method: There are two types of double-roller and single-roller. The two-person rollers of the double-drum dryer move in opposite directions. The starch emulsion is input between the two rollers heated to about 150C. The emulsion is immediately gelatinized and dried into a film on its surface. It is scraped off with a scraper and crushed. product. Its quality depends on the degree of gelatinization. By adjusting the concentration of starch, drum temperature and rotation speed, the product's ability to withstand shear force, aging during the drying process and viscosity can be adjusted. The single roller method directly transports the starch milk to the surface of the roller at about 150° for gelatinization. The heat efficiency of the single-drum type is low and the production capacity is small
Spray method: In a continuous jet cooker, high-pressure steam is mixed with starch milk to gelatinize it, and then spray-dried quickly to produce pre-gelatinized starch. The spray drying method is not suitable for high-viscosity pastes, and this method is relatively expensive and is rarely used.
Extrusion method: This is a method that uses a screw extrusion puffing machine to produce pregelatinized starch based on the principle of pressure-controlled puffing. Add the pre-adjusted wet starch with a moisture content of 15-20% into the extruder. The starch will be gelatinized by heat generated by the friction and pressure of the spiral shaft, and then extruded at high pressure through small holes with a diameter of 1-10 mm. The materials in the atmosphere are instantly expanded and dried, and then pregelatinized starch can be obtained after crushing and screening. Due to the high-intensity shear force, the viscosity of the product decreases, and the solubility of the product is greater than that of the roller method. Since there is basically no need to add water during the manufacturing process, internal friction heat can be used to maintain a temperature of 120--160°C, and drying does not require a heat source, so it is recognized as the most economical method for soil cultivation.
