Components of Fish Feed Production Line
Crushing Machine
Crushing process can reduce raw material size to desired particle size. For producing 150-700kg/h fish feed pellets with regular requirements, the hammer mill is enough. For producing 1-10T/h fish feed pellets, the water-drop crusher is a must.
Fish Feed Crushing Machine
For even larger aquatic feed manufacturing factory, the crushing process adopts secondary crushing technology, that is: first normal crushing, and then fine crushing.
Mixing Machine
Mixing is one of the most important processes in aquatic feed production plant. Horizontal twin screw mixer is the most commonly used mixer for aquatic feed. Usually there is a discharge port equal to the full length of the mixer at the bottom.
Conditioning (optional) Machine
Conditioning is to add water and heat to the powdery material before making fish feed, it can improve the digestibility and water resistance of feed, kill pathogenic bacteria. Usually this process is realized by wet type fish feed extruder, but its price is much higher.
Pelletizing or Extruding Machine

Selection of Raw Material
The main nutrients are starch, with 10% to 15% of feed for sunken fish and over 20% of feed for floating fish. The starch content is generally between 5% and 60%.
Material Grinding
Large-scale aquatic feed production enterprises generally adopt the secondary crushing process, that is, conventional crushing first and then fine crushing.
Material Mixing
When adding various materials to the blender, it is best to add some large materials first, and finally add some small materials, such as a premix of minerals, vitamins, and drugs. After spraying liquid or oil on top of the dry mixture, you need to mix again (wet mixing).
Extruding Process
Through different parameters, the extruder can produce buoyancy, sinking, slow speed and semi-humid feed, which can adapt to the feed requirements of various aquatic animals.
Pellets Drying
In this process, the dry air repeatedly passes through the product layer until the particles reach the optimal moisture content and leave the dryer.
Pellets Spraying/Coating
Spray the atomized oil on the surface of the particles at high speed, and the excess oil can be recovered by filtration.
Pellets Cooling
After spraying, the fish feed pellets are transported to a counter-flow cooler for cooling.
Pellet Packing

Maintenance of Fish Feed Production Line
Ensure that these equipment work in a dry and clean environment to avoid corrosion as well as rust problems.
After use or stop using, the drum and cleaning barrel should be cleaned of remaining materials in time, and then installed to prepare for working again.
When the drum moves back and forth during operation, the screws of the front bearing should be adjusted to the right position so that the bearing does not make noise.
Regularly inspect the machine, once a month, check the flexibility and wear of the moving parts such as the worm wheel, worm gear, bolts on the lubrication block, and bearings.
If these machines are not used for a long time, they need to be cleaned and the smooth surface of the machine should be coated with anti-rust oil and then covered with a cloth to prevent dust.
